Each year, my Sigong ~ Grand Master Michael Tse ~ creates an opportunity (now online) for all the students of Chun Yuen Quan from many different countries who are eligible to teach to come together to focus on improving our skill and our classes.
This weekend was yet another exciting and productive instructor course. This one seemed especially full of camaraderie, each one helping each one, each one wanting the very best for everyone. This is how our hearts have grown over the years.
Wishing for us to deepen in our knowledge of the history and principles of the skill, as well as guiding us to understand how to best contribute to the smooth running of the Tse Qigong Centre in regard to managing our students and classes, we were challenged, in groups, with questions which needed to be answered correctly before testing our forms. This is Sigong’s way of getting us to be well educated, consistent and unified and to develop our way of thinking.
We watched Sigong’s truly beautiful demonstrations of skills he learned in Beijing from his Sifu, Great Grandmaster Wu Chun Yuen. We then polished and refined our forms with the help of senior students and went on to being tested individually.
We internalized a yet deeper desire to develop ourselves to a higher level for the sheer pleasure and beauty of practising the skill as well as all the health benefits that come from it.
Everyone seems to have enjoyed the course immensely and will take this inspiration back into our daily practice and our classes. Great gratitude to the organizers and to Sigong for this opportunity.

Another great instructor course. It was good to see everyone and see how Chun Yuen makes everyone so positive. It was a treat to get polishing on so many forms. Thank you Sifu, it was a very inspiring course. Peter A
We just finished another amazing Chun Yuen Instructor course. It was a lovely way to spend the weekend! It was great to do the questions to deepen our understanding of the skill and to see Sigong demonstrate and to practice in the polishing rooms. A big thanks to Sigong, Siba and all the testers. Looking forward to next time. Best, Tom Hogg
Thankyou TaiSigong, SibaGong and all the testers an polishers for a great Chun Yuen Quan Instructor course. It was great to see everyone and work on the forms together, and fantastic to see TaiSigong demonstrating the forms on Saturday. The seminar ran very smoothly, and I have learned a lot this year. Thanks, Rod.
Thanks so much for this year’s Instructor Course for all organising. It focuses the mind, honing our skills to keep consistency amongst us all. Personally I’ve found preparing for it very helpful for rehabilitation post surgery and other treatments which had challenged dexterity, balance, strength, posture and overall fitness. It’s been an invaluable rehab tool! Thanks, Sigong, Siba, Sifu and all! -Kay
I have been very impressed by a lot of people’s forms this time! We’re all getting better. A really enjoyable course which covered so many forms and really gave us chance to work on a lot of skill. Thanks so much Sigong, Sifu, and all the testers!
Good to see everyone. Lots of polishing to improve our skill. Thank you sifu and sihing Darryl for all your hard work and all the testers for your help and advice.
Christine Barbier: Great Chun Yuen instructor course. Sigong demonstrated so many forms, was great for checking our knowledge and picking up on details missed or forgotten. The questions makes us think deeper, asking why something is like this or like that, sometimes just the question itself is interesting. Nice seeing everyone. Thank you Sigong, Siba Darryl and Siba Mike, and everyone for all the help. Christine
Fantastic instructors course. Always look forward to practicing Chun Yuen for a couple of days and having the chance to polish and improve. Thank you Sifu, Sihing and all seniors who helped to run the course.
The Chun Yuen Instructors course is always enjoyable and challenging. There are always new insights that come along during the demonstrations and polishing. This year was no exception. Many thanks, Tai Sigong, for your demonstrations and sharing your knowledge, many thanks to Sigong and the tester and polishers for making the course run so smoothly. It’s always good to see everyone again.
Many thanks,
Allistair
Chun Yuen Quan is such a fun group of forms and you can’t help but be joyful and feel lighter after you have practised. The instructor course offers us the opportunity to not only watch Sigong, we deepen our knowledge through the question time and then of course, polish our own forms. Having a senior observe and then give you feedback on a movement is so rewarding, and one of my favourite parts.
A huge thank you to Sigong, Siba, Testers and Polishers for ensuring the course was enjoyable and flowed smoothly – you are very much appreciated!

Thank you Sifu, Darryl and all who helped out with a great instructors course. It was a very enjoyable weekend where we were challenged both in mind and body. Much appreciated, thank you. Peadar
Great instructor course. It seems so natural to have it online now.
I enjoyed chatting and catching up in the polishing room.
Thank you to all the seniors and Sigong for making this possible.

Chun Yuen Quan Instructor’s course: I learned so much from the questions, especially the ones I was not able to answer fully! I really appreciate the opportunity for polishing the warm-up and Xing Shou both days, I was grateful for receiving very valuable feedback: not only so I can be more precise in positions and angles, but also to move with more efficiency and increased power when I prepare and land jumps. Gratitude to TaiSigong, Sibagong, SIfu Lee, polishing room and testers feedback. They were pure gold! – Alisa
A very enjoyable instructors course. I’ve learnt so much over the course of the weekend with many finer points and details to work on and improve. Thank you everyone for all the feedback, tips and camaraderie; and thank you Sigong, Sibaak, testers and polishers for making organising all of this look easy, I’m sure like the Chun Yuen forms, it’s not. It’s especially nice to end the course feeling energised, inspired and looking forward to more practice!

Dear Sigong, Sifu, Si Suk Gong
Thank you for the 2026 Chun Yuen Instructor course, it was great. Sifu made the comment that the course now being on Zoom seemed so normal these days and yes it did, I think we are all used to the format now. The organisation of the polishing room was really good , I got a lot from it this year, I was working on staff warm ups and Dammo staff, spending so much time working on them was great and I feel more flexible for it. As Si Gong said spending two days working on Chun Yuen makes us realise how much we love the skill. I think the North had the best of the weather this year, so that was good too! I wonder if the questions will seem any easier next year, see you then.

Thank you Sigong, Siba, Sifu and all the testers polishers and other students. So much to take in with the demonstrations and polishing this year, as well as the questions and knowledge to think more deeply about. I’ve taken a lot from the course, and I feel better for seeing everyone and practicing with so many people who love chun yuen. As Sigong said, it’s good to be together and reminding ourselves how special this skill is and how much it means to us. Thank you for a great course. Ian
Thank you Sigong, Sifu and all the testers and polishers. Chun Yuen is an amazing skill and watching Sigong demonstrating the forms is always my favorite part, as we get to see the level of detail in the forms. I really appreciate all the help and advice I received. It was a really enjoyable weekend and I’m already looking forward to next years course. Trev
