Chen Spear Pt21

Sigong went through the form with us in sections, then the whole form as one.  He explained the type of energy we should use with the spear and introduced more powerful forms of the movements, incorporating more jumping.
The final seminar in the Chen Taijiquan Spear series was all about polishing the form, and making sure everyone was confident with the sequence and all the details, which was exactly what we needed.  Sigong went through the form with us in sections, then the whole form as one.  He explained the type of energy we should use with the spear and introduced more powerful forms of the movements, incorporating more jumping.

After Sigong demonstrated each part, everyone had the opportunity to ask questions, then we split into breakout rooms to practise.  Through this we developed a deeper understanding of the movements and helped each other improve — particularly in the flower stepping.  Overall this has been a fantastic seminar series for the fun, dynamic and challenging Chen Taijiquan Spear form, which I’m sure many of us will never forget.  Thank you Sigong for teaching us.

It was great to do the final Chen spear seminar today! I really enjoyed doing the jumping sections and getting to polish the final part a bit more. Thank you, Sigong. Best, Tom Hogg.

So, this was the last Chen Spear seminar – it feels strange that we completed it. I have enjoyed it so much and look forward to continuing working on it. Many thanks for sharing this with us Sigong. Best regards, Peter Hogg

Feels great to reach the end of the Chen Taiji Spear seminar series, of course this is really just another beginning. Taking the form in stages and being able to go through the final parts a few times, has very much helped bring the form all together. The spear brings up such great energy and I’m looking forward to working on making everything flow. Thank you again Sigong for sharing this wonderful form. Sam

Overall, the Chen Spear is a very dynamic and beautiful form that rises in complexity as it moves along. With the form now finished I will try to practice regularly so I don’t forget it. The second part is quite challenging but I believe with enough practice it will become as natural as the first part. Thank you Sifu for this great form!

Great to have had another chance to polish the Chen spear. It is a complicated form that needs full focus in order to not miss any parts, especially when going a bit faster. Thank you Sigong for making this form accessible to us all. ChristineÂ
