Grandmaster Tse’s Chùn Yuén Diaries 俊元日記 16

Try to do the whole form in one continuous whole movement. We can do this we will find ourselves feeling powerful and light.

Principles of Chùn Yuén Quán

Part 8

The principles of Chùn Yuén Quán 俊元拳 are:

  1. Posture
  2. Relaxation
  3. Move from the Waist
  4. In Line
  5. One Whole Movement
  6. Breathe Through the Nose

We need to follow them in this order. First, we need to focus on our posture. When our posture is good, we can focus on relaxation. When the relaxation is good, then we can focus on moving from the waist. When this is good, then we can focus on creating the line, which is similar to posture, only we need to do this in many positions. We can hold the positions for a while and check if we are in line or not. Then we can try to do the whole form in one continuous whole movement. We can do this we will find ourselves feeling powerful and light. Finally, we should make sure we breathe through the nose. Do not worry if at the end of the form you are out of breath and puffing, this is part of training.

When we are able to follow the principles, we will find ourselves healthy and fit, even younger. I find that Chùn Yuén Quán brings up the Qì 氣 quicker than any other training!
