Info
Kay began training in various martial arts in the late 1990s and has over ten years experience of Tse Qigong Centre skills. She has been teaching since 2018. Kay is a student of Sifu Mike Baker and a grand student of Grandmaster Michael Tse. Her Cambridge classes are available at two different venues.
Having studied Tae Kwon Do and Aikido for several years in the U.S., Kay knew that finding the right fit was important when she moved here. Upon attending Sifu Mike’s class, she knew she’d found the right teacher, skills and class atmosphere for her – friendly, unpretentious but respectful of traditional skills. The class aims weren’t for competitiveness or accolades, just fellow students helping each other develop across a range of skill levels under the guidance of a skilled teacher, ‘Sifu’.
Kay has found that Qigong helped reduce tension through increased awareness and practice, leaving her feeling relaxed yet energised. This simple benefit has had profound effects on her overall wellbeing. She enjoys helping others experience the benefits of this practice as well. Non-contact Chun Yuen Quan benefits health too – increasing flexibility, fitness and warmth. It also is quite fun, bringing a smile to the face – especially the weapons forms. Kay regularly trains for hours each week, continuing to develop and polish skills whilst also helping others learn so that they can feel better, gain resilience and stay well.
