When we touch the acupuncture points, the flow of Qì is not as strong, but it is good for healing that area.

Touching and Not Touching the Acupuncture Points

Part 3

Not touching the acupuncture points makes the Qì 氣 flow through the area and the rest of the body. Touching focuses on that area, and the Qì flows more slowly. It is good to have both ways in our Qìgōng 氣功 movements.

When practising, if we hold a position—whether we are touching the points or holding at a distance—for long enough, the effect is very similar. Having both ways means we can focus the Qì and keep it flowing better.

It is like life: we need to be close with people but also keep a distance. In the end, the result will be balance. After we practise, we will feel good. In society, we need to keep in touch with good people, and this is right, but we should not be too close to everyone. This is the right way to keep a good relationship and good health.
