In the second lecture on Peaceful and Calm Meditation, Grandmaster Tse talked about what the terms in the title relate to, giving us an understanding of what they might feel like.
“Peaceful” relates to settling down, both body and mind so that we can begin to feel content, satisfied and happy.
“Calm” relates to not being disturbed by worry. We will feel less bothered by small things, problems become less important, we can let them go, and we will be able to solve them more easily. We will be able to relax and be more aware. This will help us to discern the right course of action in our daily decision-making.
After checking that everyone remembered the 1st poem, we practised together for some time and then discussed some of the sensations people experienced. These were related to the circulation of the Shao Zhou Tian, the circulation of energy up and down the front and back of the body.
Then we learned the second poem and about its relationship to the Mao You Zhou Tian, which circulates the energy around the sides of the body and we learned how to finish off that section of the practice.
The increased circulation of qi clears up blockages and supplements areas where qi is weak. There can be physical, mental and emotional blockages that are gradually reduced as we continue our practice.
This second session was very helpful to help us to understand the process.

Thank you, Sifu, for a great seminar. The practice with everybody
together really felt much stronger than practising alone. Looking
forward to next time. Vera

I’m feeling really good after this second part of the Peaceful and Calm
Meditation. Very strong energy! Thank you Sigong. Peter Hogg🙏🏻
The journey of discovery through peaceful and calm meditation is first
that my mind and body are restless. With Sigongs guidance we enter a new
place within but is all of oneself too and brings peace to the
restlessness. Thank you Sigong for a profound and insightful seminar.

Thank you Sigong, this is a very nice way to start the weekend. Having a
clear structure to follow meditation practice, along with a large group,
is very helpful and feels really good. Sam P
Always enjoyable to meditate in a big group. I agree that it usually
feels stronger than just doing it solo. It is interesting to think of
our Qigong family as a big organism – because we know each other well
and are energetically connected. So, whenever one of us practises,
everyone benefits.
Thank you, Sigong
