Even if we fall asleep, we will often wake up because of the pain. In this situation we need to find a way to heal the pain or at least lessen it, otherwise we will still have sleeping problems.

Insomnia

Part 3

6. Irregular Schedule

If we have an irregular schedule, perhaps because of our work, for example you might be a police officer, pilot, nurse, etc. Then you will very likely have to work shifts and the times of the shifts are always changing. When I was a police officer in Hong Kong, I would sometimes work day shifts, sometimes evening shifts and sometimes overnight and they would change all the time. This is very hard on the body as it is unable to change quickly to adapt to the different rest and sleeping pattern. It is like travelling to a faraway country where the time zone is very different, sometimes we will need to sleep when we arrive even if it is early in the day. So if our schedule is irregular, long term, then eventually this will have a bad effect on our sleep and will lead to sleep problems.

7 Chronic Disease

If we have a chronic disease, which causes us pain and makes us constantly uncomfortable, then this will affect our sleep. Even if we fall asleep, we will often wake up because of the pain. In this situation we need to find a way to heal the pain or at least lessen it, otherwise we will still have sleeping problems. Therefore, any pain is bad and it will cause sleeping problems. If it is left too long then it will result in insomnia. Therefore it is important to heal this condition, then when the pain is eased we can sleep better.
