Insomnia
Part 6
So, what should we do if we have insomnia? I believe that everything can be fixed, we just need to have the right solution, but it might take some time to fix it. If we have had insomnia for a very short time then we can do some simple meditation to help clear it. This is because a period of insomnia for a short time is usually a result of too much thinking in our mind.
If we have had insomnia for a long period of time then we need to practise some special meditation over a long period of time. In general, insomnia is caused by the mind, our emotions and illness. If it is caused by illness, then we first need to heal it, and once it is healed and we recover and then we will be able to sleep much better. However, if it is an issue with the mind and the emotions, then we need to be able to let these go. To do this we need to do some special meditation. The first thing we need to do is find a chair on which we can sit and keep our back straight. Sit forward on the edge of the chair, this is the best. We should not lean backwards. We need to allow the back to be free with nothing touching it, as this means when we sit, only our bottom on the chair and the soles of our feet on the floor are touching anything. We need to minimise contact with anything else. We should also wear comfortable clothing so that we are not fighting to get comfortable and we can also be barefoot so that our feet touch the floor.
