If we look at the shape of Shì, we can see that there are two stars at the front, two at the back, two on the right, two on the left and one at the centre.

28 Constellations

Part 11

The next constellation in the Northern Xuánwǔ 玄武 is Shì 室, and this means rooms – many rooms. As I mentioned before, Xū 虛 – Emptiness and the foundation of a house, and Wēi 危, which means danger and the roof of a house, now we have Shì, which has nine stars, and these are the rooms of the house. It has nine rooms, so it must be a big house. Traditionally, a Chinese family home had many rooms, and a big mansion could has three, four, even five generations live together. If we look at the shape of Shì, we can see that there are two stars at the front, two at the back, two on the right, two on the left and one at the centre. It really is like a house with nine rooms spread out throughout the house. Shì is located on the tail of the turtle and connects the western sign Pegasus.

Now we have one last constellation, which is Bì 壁, this means wall. A big mansion needs solid walls to cover the outside of the building. Bì has two stars and they are separate and far away, to protect the mansion, which is perfect. Bì is located on the furthest part of the snake, furthest out of all the constellations. It connects to the western sign Pegasus.
