Cān means to take part or participate. Shēn means that if a decision is made high up, then we must participate.

28 Constellations

Part 17

The last constellation in the Xī Fāng Bái Hǔ 西方白虎 – Western White Tiger is Shēn 参, which means ginseng. In Chinese we say Rén Shēn 人参 , Rén means people. Ginseng is a very powerful herb; it is very nutritious and has very powerful energy. Shēn can also be pronounced Cān and Cān means to take part or participate. Shēn means that if a decision is made high up, then we must participate. Thus, if an order is made to go to war from high up, we must participate, and if the star shines brightly, then we will win the war, but if it is not, then we will lose, or we should not go to war.

Shēn has ten stars, and they are all located on the face of the tiger, and it belongs to the Western sign Orion like the constellation Zī 觜. The whole Western Whtie Tiger is about war. We should not go to war until there is no other choice because it will cause a lot of chaos and harm. Once we decide to go to war, we have to think carefully about it and consider what we should do if we lose.
