Touching and Not Touching the Acupuncture Points
Part 2
In Qìgōng, when we work with the acupuncture points and do not touch them, we use a bit more energy, but since it is on ourselves, we use the energy we have gained whilst practising. Not touching the acupuncture points quickly stimulates the Qì 氣 to flow. This stimulation triggers the Qì to flow through the whole body, and we can feel it. Then the Qì will flow from inside to outside, and also from the outside environment into the body. This is very good for our health, particularly when we are outside, and is why we practise Qìgōng movements.
When we touch the acupuncture points, the flow of Qì is not as strong, but it is good for healing that area. During our Qìgōng movements, we touch the points in many areas; for example, we touch the Hégǔ 合谷 points to the Shènshū 腎俞 points, and this will stimulate the kidneys.
