Bad Weather for Practise
When we practise Qìgōng 氣功, our first choice is to practise closer to nature. Nature gives us more energy. Nature also gives us many kinds of weather; it can be hot, cold, raining, windy, snowing, sunny, etc. When the weather is nice, it is better to practise outside, but if the weather is bad, should we still go outside? Of course not, we should practise indoors, but we should open the windows to get more fresh air.
It is like when you go to sleep. I always like to open the window at night; if it is cold, I will open it a little bit. If it is really cold, then I will open the window for a short time to get some fresh air into the room and then close it.
The weather will affect us when we practise. If the weather is too bad, then we cannot relax and enjoy our practice. Also, we need to remember that Qìgōng makes us open ourselves, our mind, our acupuncture points and our internal organs. This means that if we are not strong enough, we can pick up bad energy, like the cold or the heat, and even the wind, and this can make us ill. So, it is better to avoid bad weather when practising.
