Qigong Instructor Course 2025

The 2025 Qigong Instructor course followed the same new format which started last year. On the first day of the course, we started with questions, then moved onto Sigong demonstrating forms, then polishing in groups.
This continued into day 2 in the morning, then in the afternoon, the testing of forms started. In day 3, it was time to hear the answers to all the questions, explained and expanded by Sigong, then the rest of the day was for testing forms. All too soon, the course was over and it was time to say good bye!
 
At the beginning of the course, we are all a little nervous for the questions. There is a lot of knowledge in Qigong, some we know top of our head, some we have to study for it. This is particularly true of newer knowledge, published in the recent Qigong Dao over the past year. This year, there was new knowledge about the 28 Constellations, so we all had to work harder at remembering the information and the meaning behind it! But, we also have to revise the general knowledge about Qigong, admin tasks for instructors, principles, how Qigong works for health etc. So it is a process of acquiring information throughout the year, and reading the Qigong Dao helps a lot, it has so much knowledge in it! Everybody managed the questions in the end, and was looking forward to hearing the answers on the last day. The question answering session was great, not just finding out all the answers, but hearing some of the thinking behind and reasons, it is always good to know “why”!
 
Sigong adopted a slightly different format for the demonstrations this year, and it worked very well. We were able to watch Sigong demonstrating all the forms from Warm Up 1 to Kunlun Twinning Hands Bagua! This was a treat for many of us, seeing some forms not seen for a while. It is always good to go back to the basics and polish Balancing Gong, Healthy Living Gong and the Wild Goose form. There were a lot of good questions from everybody during the demonstrations, which helps everyone else improve their knowledge. I always pick up details and explanations that I had not thought about. I really enjoy that part of the course, when something goes “ah” in my head and I have picked something new, or connected together previous separate knowledge.
 
The testing went really smoothly, thanks to Siba Darryl’s expert explanations at the start of the course, and his flawless organisation behind the scene before and during the course. I know it is a lot of work for Sigong and Siba to prepare for the course and for running it, so I am always very grateful for it. Sigong said at the end of the course that we are all getting better, which is a testimony to his tireless work in helping us all. Whether pass or fail it does not matter, the most important is to improve and develop ourselves, and at the end we all benefit from all the skills.
 
It was great to catch up with everybody on the course. There are people from all over the world attending, and I am always impressed with the dedication of those whose local time means it is in the middle of the night when they attend the course! There was also some time to have a chat with some brothers and sisters not seen for a while, which is always very nice.

Always nervous about instructors course despite attending for many years, but it helps me take it seriously- I want to do well. I appreciate all the effort that goes into organising, educating us in the process, & testers & polishers being prepared & helpful. Firstly, a big thank you for the time and effort Sigong, Siba, Testers and Polishers put in to not only helping us develop our Qigong but to ensure the Instructor Course runs so smoothly. The opportunity to observe Sigong demonstrating the forms and for us to be able to ask questions is invaluable, and a highlight. I often find testing a bit nerve wracking but it’s helpful in encouraging us to understand the whole of the skill not just to know our forms. After attending Instructors, I come away feeling encouraged and inspired to be a better student and a better Sifu.
As always, it was lovely to see everyone again.

Thank you Sigong and Sifu for organising and running another flawless online Qigong Instructors Course, with so many attendees it must be such hard work. It’s such a precious time to get to see Sigong’s forms and then have the polishers and testers help us improve our quality and knowledge. As Sigong explained, we are so lucky to have this skill to help us in our lives, it is something you can’t learn in a university. It makes us wanting to keep getting better, train more and studying harder. The course is also a great chance to catch up with brothers and sisters we don’t get chance to see often and it is always a pleasure to see everybody.

Every time I come to a instructors course one has to answer questions which can be anything from knowledge of qigong to admin and all between. So each day one learnt more about how the energy of the moves, the connections with the stars and their directions relate to our qigong practice. So I feel enriched by the experience of the course. I enjoyed seeing the forms and the corrections at this year’s Qigong Instructor Course. The questions also helped to refresh my memory and to see if I understand the principles. Going through each movement and discussing it in the polishing rooms also helped to better understand the energy of it. It’s always a highlight of the year to work towards the instructors courses, despite anticipating the disruption in normal sleeping and eating hours. I love the intensity of the involvement with watching, asking, sharing, testing and embracing and integrating all the richness gained. I’m definitely missing the hours and hours spent on the field at Harper Adams where we held our courses in person every year. I’m looking forward to letting all the polishings settle in and contemplating the answers to the questions in the test, tuning and sharpening up. I also loved the inspiration and opportunity to really deeply learn all about the 28 constellations in preparation. It really helped to ground all that we had learned over the course of the seminars.
I’m also filled with gratitude for all the wonderful people on the course and for the spirit of harmony and unity that we have, always wanting to support one another, raise each other up and also gratitude for Sigong and all the planning and hard work on the part of those organizing. I always appreciate all the help and advice given to me and it’s amazing to see Sigong demonstrate the forms. I usually have a panic attack on the day of the questions and always seem to wake up blank in the morning! It’s like all the information I’ve learned just evaporates out of me! But I have fun learning from the questions, as there’s so much knowledge to learn. Qigong is an amazing skill and made even better being around fun, friendly Brothers and Sisters. So good as always to see everyone and thank you again Sigong and Sifu for allowing me to doing the Course.

Another great Instructor Course for Qigong in 2025 Thanks to Sigongs demonstration and answering questions and imparting knowledge, and to our seniors and testers and Polishers in correcting and showing us the correct way to approach certain movements and overcoming the difficulties the clean and clear movements in which Sigong and Polishers guided us, its not about how many forms you know, it’s how you are doing them correctly, internally and with skill and with quality which comes from experience and practice thank you all for your help and time looking to improve more by then thank you Sigong

I learn so much during a white crane sword seminar, firstly I polish the parts of the form I am comfortable with, then I try and learn more about the parts I am not so comfortable with and then the new section. However, I also learn more about myself and how I continue to learn to deal with trying to clear brain fog, not to get disheartened when I don’t pick something up or I am getting something wrong (repeatedly in some cases!) and how incredibly helpful and lovely everyone in the seminar is. Wonderful lessons to learn all round.

This year has given me a real sense of the deep connection we have as we stand between heaven and earth, ground and sky. It was fascinating learning how the ancient Chinese saw the heavens as a reflection of life here on Earth, and how the stars and constellations connect with our Qigong practice. It has also been wonderful to see everyone come together to improve their knowledge of this profound and special skill. Every instructors course is unique for me, I always comes away with something new and have been helped to think about my Qigong practice in new ways and given new insights, this year has been no exception.

Thank you for arranging a great Wild Goose instructor course, I really enjoyed it. The question format has evolved well, Si Gong taking the time to explain the answers, particularly about the constellations and their associated stories, also how we can heal ourselves with Qi Gong, Si Gong seems to give us a deeper knowledge by making the concepts sound simpler and more understandable. Sifu told me last year that his job running an instructor course was like being an air traffic controller, somehow he does manage to get us all to our correct destination, with maybe only a few diversions, I’m not sure the air traffic controllers could say the same. It was great to see everyone and our Qi seems to have headed the storm off until tomorrow.I’m off to work on my corrections from the polishing, hope to see you soon.
