Swimming Dragon Pt2

Going deeper takes time. It also made sense of some of the hand gestures in the skill, like sword fingers and orchid hands, bringing more meaning to what we’ve been practising in other forms as well. It seems that quite a few people in the seminar have learned this beautiful form before and are very happy to be polishing it. Breaking down the movements in the form is very enlightening and even challenging.

Grandmaster Michael Tse began by giving a very interesting lecture about how the 5 fingers relate to the internal organs which also relate to the times of day. Just like polishing a form, we can see some details we hadn’t seen before, and we heard things about the flow of the energy during the different hours of the day and night that some of us hadn’t fully taken in before. Breaking down the movements in the form is very enlightening and even challenging. Mind, more conscious, and body have to work together. We notice more clearly where, during the movements, the Qi settles.
Sigong’s explanations and answers to our questions that we often generate in the breakout rooms are helping us to learn or polish this wonderful form very clearly. Much gratitude Sigong.

Interesting to learn about the organ times and their connection to different points on the palm. Great to repeat the first movements so many times – feeling full of energy now!
Thank you Sigong.

It was a very enjoyable second part of the Swimming Dragon Gong series of seminars. This is great form for bringing up the energy on cold winter days. Thank you Sigong. Peter Hogg🙏🏻

Thank you for today’s seminar Sifu. Lots of coordination and focus was needed to figure out the walking move today, and there was more to think about than I first thought. So good brain exercise 🙂

Thank you Sigong for a really informative lecture and great swimming dragon seminar, the time flew by which shows how much I was enjoying it.
I find it so useful to be able to practice and discuss the moves in the break out rooms and everyone is always so helpful, so thank you to you all as well.

Very much enjoying breaking down Swimming Dragon and trying to see it again with fresh eyes. I also enjoyed today’s talk about the hands and which parts relate to which time and organs. Thank you again Sigong for sharing your knowledge. Sam

Good to go over this form I learnt a while back and seeing it with new insights. Thank you Sigong for a enjoyable seminar. Natasha

The movements feel more relaxed and, although the new sequence is quite complicated, I am understanding it more and more. Looking forward to the next part. Thank you Sifu!
