The Bā Jìn 八勁 – Eight Jìn are, Péng 掤, Lǚ 履, Jǐ 擠, Àn 按, Cǎi 採, Liè 裂, Zhǒu 肘, Kào 靠 and of these Péng and Lǚ are the most important.
Zhǒu 肘 means elbow. Tàijíquán 太極拳 we have many ways to strike.
The next pair in the Bā Jìn 八勁 – Eight Jìn are Cǎi 採 and Liè 裂.
The second pair of the Bā Jìn 八勁 – Eight Jìn are Jǐ 擠 and Àn 按.
In Tuī Shǒu 推手 – Pushing Hands, after we are familiar with the first four Jìn 勁 – Péng 掤, Lǚ 履, Jǐ 擠, Àn 按 with a partner, we should start to work on the walking, before we can start to train the proper fighting.
Tàijíquán 太极拳 has Bā Jìn 八勁 – Eight Jìn (Energies). No matter what style, Chen陈, Yang 楊, Wu 吳, Wu 武 or Sun 孫, they all follow the principle of Tàijí 太极 – Yīn 陰 and Yáng 陽.
When practising Tàijíquán 太極拳 we need to do our forms regularly.
