Wing Chun Biu Zi – Pt 1

I am genuinely excited about the upcoming journey to learn this amazingly powerful, yet beautiful form. The seminar is run for maximum learning opportunity, having ample time to practice, ask questions

It was an absolute privilege to be part of this historic event – the first online seminar of Biu Zi (Thrusting Fingers) – Wing Chun’s third and final bare hand form. Over 50 people from all over the world came together to listen, learn and ask questions of our Grandmaster. Having studied Wing Chun for close to 10 years, I am genuinely excited about the upcoming journey to learn this amazingly powerful, yet beautiful form. The seminar is run for maximum learning opportunity, having ample time to practice, ask questions, and even virtually train with your fellow Kung Fu brothers and sisters. This is an opportunity of a life time and I was very glad to see so many enthusiastic faces online. Many people have not learnt this form before, and therefore there was an anticipation of venturing into the unknown – which brought everyone closer together – no matter how long, or short, you have been a member of the Centre. We are all very privelleged to be students under Grandmaster Tse.

Great to start this form in a seminar. I have been looking forward to it for a long time!
Thank you, Sigong.

Learning a new form always brings out different stories and ideas which is so exciting — I enjoyed the story about striking the bell with the fingers! It was also good to see such a large group of people and people in Australia practising together in the hall — so nice to be able to practice the techniques on someone else as you are taught them! Feels like we have just scraped the surface of the form but there is already plenty here to think about. Thanks Sigong for sharing such a high level skill with us all.

The Biu Zi seminar was a great start to my morning! It was refreshing to review the purpose of the forms, principles, and understand what attributes are developed with each of them. Additionally, it was great to learn more about Biu Zi and to understand how to properly train it and learn some applications. Looking forward to learning more next seminar. Andrew O

Been looking forward to this seminar for a long time! I was quite suprised by the Huen Ma application. In all my years of learning Wing Chun I don’t think I’ve ever learnt that! Looking forward to the the next instalment. Clive

The part 1 of bui zi was an incredibly informative introduction for me into this form. Sijo never ceases to amaze me in his ability to impart his knowledge in the accessible easy to understand way that he does.
I’m excited to delving into this further.

We started a very special seminar series with Bui Ji. I can see that there is a lot of deep knowledge in that form, it will be great to go through it with a fine comb! Already learnt a lot on the first seminar. Thank you Sigong for teaching this form on-line so we can all benefit. Christine

I’ve been looking forward to this series of seminars on Biu Zi, as I have only had a taste of it before on one of the residential courses. It’s always satisfying to go through a form in such detail. Thank you Sigong. Peter Hogg

Inspiring as always, the level of detail and purpose to each movement of the form, learning something new each minute. Looking forward to the rest of the seminars!

Thank you Sigong for a great seminar. Very exciting form to learn in depth and even from the opening stance it sets me in a different mode. I loved how we went into detail in every move. Looking forward to the next one! Michalis A.

It’s great to have a seminar especially for Biu Zi, and it’s always exciting at the start of learning a new form. Already there’s plenty of details here to think about and practice. Very much looking forward to the next part. Sam

It was really good to start Biu Zi. The form starts with what at first glance seems a simple set of movements, but on closer inspection there are many subtle details and will take lots of practice to get it correct! I enjoyed the seminar and the stories, looking forward to next time. Thankyou Tai Sigong, Rod

What an absolute treat to be able to start to understand the basic concepts of BiuZi.
I have found that the explanations and depth of which Tai-Sigong explains the form, opening stance and other parts of BiuZi are so integral to understanding Wing Chun; how distance and energy are implemented to optimal effect.
What a fantastic start to part 1 and am thoroughly looking forward to the next part. Thank you to everyone in the breakout rooms and it was great to see everyone from across the globe. Eric Paule

I really enjoyed the seminar tonight. The level of details was excellent.I feel very lucky to able to join online and also on a Saturday night as it’s a late one for us in Australia.
Looking forward to practicing what we learnt.
Tom

I really enjoyed the seminar, I particularly liked that Master Tse went over the principles of Wing Chun, and took us slowly and thoroughly through the first part of the form. Thanks!

Thanks Tai Sigong for part 1 of the Biu Zi seminar. I really appreciated the detail that you went into – both about the form but also about Wing Chun as a whole. Thanks so much! – Sam Fyfield

Even being on the other side of the world wouldn’t stop us from continuing our education in Wing Chun. Thank you Sigong for the deep insight into the 3rd form, it is eye-opening! – Yelian He

I have been looking forward to the Wing Chun Biu Zi seminar and am very happy that Sifu is teaching it. The lecture was very good and reminding us of the principles of Wing Chun and the beginning of the form was great to go through again after many months from the residential course. Thank you Sifu!
