Grandmaster Tse’s Wing Chun Note 446

During the typhoon, most of the local people stayed at home but I was staying in a hotel.

Taai Sīgōng Ip Chun’s 葉準太師公 100th Birthday

Part 5

On the 31st of August I have gone out find somewhere to eat the weather was already very bad. Some of the shops and the restaurants however were still open I was able to get some food and enjoy some Hong Kong Lai Cha 香港奶茶 (milk tea) and was even able to do some practise. By the night time the effects of the typhoon were very serious and though most people stayed at home there were still some people who wanted to go out and experience the strong winds come and watch sea from the harbour front by the typhoon. On the 2nd September the typhoon started moving away from Hong Kong so everybody was able to go out to enjoy shopping, eating out getting on with whatever they needed to do. City of Hong Kong is an exciting place with lots of things to do, food is cheap so the restaurants are always full, the economy is good so people like to go out and eat and shop, and enjoy walking around the city as it is quite small, although the public transport is very cheap and convenient. This means that the local people go out most of the time. I spent time with my family and also met up and went for dinner with my Wing Chun brothers, Kwok Tak Yin 郭德賢 and Ho Kai 何基. Then we went to Kwok Tak Yin’s Wing Chun class in Shatin 沙田, where I did some Chī Sáu with some of his students, which was nice
