Blindman
Part 5
Although my student, Martin Gale, is blind, he is good at many things, not only Wing Chun. He can travel anywhere and has been on every trip to China with me since 1997. The last one was in 2019, just before the COVID-19 breakout. In 2001 he came to Hawaii to visit me and while he was there, he did a Hard Qigong demonstration! He has taught in many places like Liverpool and Leeds, and he had a lot of students who all respected him. Now he has stopped teaching, but since of his students still come to see him and respect him a great deal. He is a good cook and can bake bread, he plays music and is in a band, and he is one of the best people at telling jokes! He makes everyone laugh and he often makes me laugh so much it hurts! So of course, he is very sociable.
Someone who is physically disabled does not have to have a heart that is disabled. This is how we should live and handle our lives. Whenever my Tàijíquán 太極拳 teacher Chén Xiǎo Wàng 陳小旺 meets Martin, he is always so impressed with him and what he can manage. Martin is a hero to many people, and many people who do not have any disabilities are not as positive as him.
